Our Optilabs cycling glasses were a joy and an asset.

Winners of one of toughest cycle races in the world – the 3000km Race Across America, Brian Welsh & Stacey Eccles, wouldn’t have been without their Optilabs cycling glasses...

Glasses are a vital part of our cycling kit. Throughout the race we used COBRA & RAPIDE frames with both mirrored and photochromic lenses. Not having to worry about inserts was fantastic – just cycling glasses with a prescription, so obvious, but so effective! Brian favoured the polarised mirror lenses which made such a difference whilst I prefered the photochromic lenses that reacted brilliantly to the changing light conditions.

During the race our glasses put up with a fair amount of abuse. We didn’t have the time or facilities to treat them delicately but they performed admirably and never let us down. Our Optilabs glasses were a joy to use and a great asset in the race. We knew we could rely on them!
